Our mission:

At the Vancouver Youth Mathematical Modeling Association (VYMMA), we believe theoretical mathematics is more than a bundle of abstract principles – it is a powerful force which has the potential to shape and transform the real world. Our mission is to close the gap between theoretical learning and applications of the real world by teaching youths to integrate these two topics together and analyze the issue as a whole through generalized and abstract models of the real world. We provide a platform where like-minded students can work together to tackle complicated issues and provide innovative solutions. Through group projects, design activities, and innovative solutions, we are dedicated to ensure that our students are well-equipped with the tools to succeed.

Provide the government with annual reports on societal issues: Develop a structured program to analyze and model pressing societal challenges, such as public health, environmental sustainability, economic trends, and urban planning. Use mathematical modeling to generate insights and actionable recommendations, and compile these findings into comprehensive annual reports. These reports would be presented to the government to inform policy-making and strategic planning.

About us:

Encourage interest in high school students on mathematical modeling: Launch outreach programs, workshops, and competitions aimed at high school students to spark their interest in mathematical modeling. These initiatives could include hands-on projects, mentorship opportunities with professionals in the field, and integration of mathematical modeling concepts into the high school curriculum. The goal would be to inspire the next generation of mathematicians and problem-solvers by demonstrating the real-world applications of mathematical modeling.
